Andy Warhol Committee Brainstorming Meeting

Have you heard College of DuPage has an Andy Warhol exhibit coming to town this summer?  COD is working with neighboring communities to host Andy Warhol themed events. The Chamber is working on doing a Pop Up Art Challenge where we will honor four Bloomingdale residents with their picture being made into Andy Warhol art and displayed in the town.  While working on this project I came across businesses who want to also do Andy Warhol themed activities. 

Andy Warhol Community Partner Idea Sheet: With creativity, ideas are endless to showcase your community, business, or organization to collaborate a theme with Andy Warhol. Possible tie-ins may include: celebrity, consumerism, disco, money, music, Food (Chocolate, Campbell’s Soup, Burger King), death, identity, religion and endangered animals. Be creative and show your uniqueness.

Possible niche ideas:

• Art Organization, Museums, Tourism: 
• Art Walk, public mural, themed performance, group reservation partner, themed programming, art demos and classes Business Owners, Hotels, Restaurants, Retail, Services:
• Unique retail, themed menus and cocktails
• Specialty experiences i.e., classes: cooking (he illustrated several cookbooks), cocktail, flower design, painting, workshops, movies, etc Municipalities, Economic Development Departments, Chambers of Commerce, Downtown Associations: 
• Host a DuPage Warhol Public Pop Art Mural. Contact Dawn Smith for more information 
• Gather tourist and residence by hosting themed events •
• Create Public Art and an Instagramable selfie locations with specific hashtags including #warhol2023 
• Create a map of experiences with listed activities from your community 
• Communicate with your residents and showcase all the businesses and organizations Libraries, History Centers, Park Districts, Schools, Fraternal Clubs: 
• Program unique events to your organization •
• Schedule an Andy Warhol lecture for your organization with Justin Witte, Curator or Diana Martinez, Executive Director. Please indicate date, time, length of talk, approx. number of attendees and projector availability. 
• Study guides will be available •
• Printmaking, photography, culinary, book clubs, fashion shows, cartoon drawing, disco dance parties, movies, art projects 
• Photograph your unique art projects, upload to the MAC to showcase on our digital media during the exhibit LINK •
