Bloomingdale Area Women in Business is a dynamic group of women who are seeking to expand professional opportunities for themselves in the Bloomingdale area. Bloomingdale Women in Business are looking for women who possess the ability to: "empower, embrace and equip women with the knowledge and resources to achieve their personal goals and reach their professional potential."

Membership
There are two ways you can become a member of Bloomingdale Area Women in Business (BAWIB).
1) Become a Chamber Member and add-on your BAWIB membership for $60 annually.
2) Join BAWIB without a Chamber membership for $115 annually. BAWIB Only members can attend monthly BAWIB events, Chamber After Hours and Ribbon Cuttings. All other Chamber events BAWIB Only members would have to pay the Non-Chamber price to attend.
Join Bloomingdale Area Women in Business. During your application you'll choose a membership fee for the Chamber or for BAWIB Only without Chamber membership.

The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business will award scholarships to a woman who is looking to improve herself professionally by such means as continued education or professional development with the goal of furthering her knowledge and expertise. Deadline is Friday, April 11, 2025
Applicants must be:
Affiliated residentially or commercially with the Bloomingdale area.
Adult female over 20 years of age. This is not a scholarship intended for a graduating high school student. Please see the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program for more information on graduating high school students.
The applicant should be someone continuing her education, going back to school after a period being out of school, wanting to receive a certification, needing continuing educational credits for her job, and/or wanting to move upward in her career and requires further education.
A committee from the general membership of BAWIB will evaluate applications based on the established criteria. Recommendations from this committee will be tabulated to determine the winners.
This scholarship is based on:
Personal Investment in education and career progression
Community Involvement, including volunteer or employment positions
Industry Involvement, including networking and committee positions
Potential Interview to discuss professional development plans
The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business is currently seeking nominations for the 2024 Women of the Year. This award is named for prominent local business woman Georgene Geils (1928-2011), who was a forerunner in the movement of professional women. She was known for mentoring others through her involvement in the community and within her own business. To honor her memory, the Bloomingdale Area Women in Business and the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce ask for your nomination by September 9, 2024. A panel of judges consisting of past winners will review all applications. The nominators and nominee will be informed by September 21, 2024. The award will be presented at the Best of Bloomingdale banquet in October.
