Scholarship Program
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, designed to support students in achieving their educational and career goals. Whether pursuing a university degree, attending a community college, or enrolling in a trade school, this program provides vital financial assistance to local students.
Scholarships totaling thousands of dollars are available to eligible students who meet one of the following criteria:
- They are a member (or the child of a member) of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, or
- They are a current resident of Bloomingdale.
Three Scholarship Categories Available:
- High School Seniors Graduating in 2025 – Approximately 7–12 scholarships, depending on fundraising totals.
- Current College Students – One scholarship available for students in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year.
- Trade School Scholarships – One to two scholarships for high school seniors planning to pursue a trade or certificate program.
Deadline is:
5:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Trade School Focus
The Chamber recognizes that not all students follow a traditional four-year college path. A dedicated Trade School Scholarship is available for students enrolling in programs such as cosmetology, automotive repair, HVAC, manufacturing, and other skilled trades. This scholarship supports students pursuing certifications and skills critical to the workforce.
The number of scholarships awarded depends on funds raised through the Chamber’s
Luncheon for Scholars and the generosity of its members. Community support plays a key role in the program’s success.
How You Can Help
The Chamber encourages businesses and residents to participate in fundraisers and contribute to this important initiative. Event details and updates can be found at
www.BloomingdaleChamber.com under Events or on the Chamber’s Facebook page at
BloomingdaleChamberIL. Last year the Chamber awarded thirteen scholarships. As the need increases, your support is greatly appreciated.
Naming Scholarship
The Chamber provides businesses, organizations, or families the opportunity to sponsor and name a scholarship for $1,200. Sponsors can customize the scholarship by setting specific criteria for applicants, participate as a judge, and personally present the award. The Chamber handles all the logistics, including advertising, collecting and coordinating applications, and selecting recipients on behalf of the sponsor. This program is an excellent way to honor or memorialize someone while offering a meaningful impact without the complexities of managing a scholarship independently. Make a Donation: Any business can make a donation to the Scholarship Program. All amounts are welcomed. For those donating $500 or more will be invited to the Scholarship Breakfast in June to meet the awardees and help present the checks.
